What is the difference between tree trimming and pruning?
People use the words interchangeably and in practice we do mean the same visit. If there is a distinction, trimming is about shape and clearance, cutting back growth that is crowding a roof, a wire, or a driveway. Pruning is about the health of the tree, taking out dead, diseased, or crossing limbs so what is left grows stronger. Most jobs end up doing some of both.
